Bar & Restaurant Refurbishment and Fit Out in Birmingham
The New Masons Bar & Grill had a complete makeover both inside with the bar and restaurant as well as exterior cladding. The Restaurant is one of the most eye-catching features since the refurbishment. When we started the job the plan was to raise slightly and re-plaster board the ceiling making it a flat ceiling, but in the process of doing this we discovered the wooden beams and decided they should be on display. With the wooden beams on show, we installed a Velux window in the roof to let in natural daylight and replaced the ceiling panels with burnt pine to give the restaurant a warm barn feel. Both ends of the restaurant were cladded with burnt oak and chandeliers were installed between each wooden beam, which sets a smooth warm lighting.
The Benches were made to measure and built here at Stratton's Workshop by our team of Carpenters and Joiners. During our time with the owners before the refurb began, we discussed the new image they had in mind for the masons and brought it to life with CAD and sketch up designs. Once everything was agreed, we started to build the new benches in advance of our start date so everything was ready to be moved in on time and we could get the project completed within the time frame.
On sight, a new bar was built for the restaurant to accommodate a till, coffee machine and space to walk through without bumping into one another. We built additional walls for the cladding to be fitted on to, our bespoke bench seats upholstered, glass sheets with restaurant logos installed throughout and brick slips behind the bar.
The New Masons now has a complete new look and feel where modern meets rustic. A great example of how two different styles can fuse with one another creating a comfortable, warm aura to be in.
